Our client is a leading rotating equipment service and supply company, providing a full range of sales, operations, maintenance and fabrication services to natural gas producers, gathering systems, pipelines, refineries and petrochemical operations.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Vice President of Sales
SCOPE
The successful candidate will be responsible for client relations, sales campaigns, and contract negotiations. He or she will become familiar with key client decision makers, stay abreast of client organizational changes and understand the business development opportunities with existing and potential clients. As such, this individual will be responsible for recommending target opportunities, developing proposal strategy and participating in proposal preparation under the direction of the Vice President of Sales, and in concert with other members of the sales team.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
This position will be responsible for sales and marketing of the Company's capabilities to operators and drilling contractors that require maintenance and repair services to offshore platforms as well as targeting engineering companies that need fabrication packages. The successful candidate must perform the following:
• Develop, prepare and implement short and long term plans ensuring he/she conforms to corporate objectives. Recommend and present these plans to senior management as required.
• Work closely with all departments ensuring maximum exposure of the Company's capabilities.
• Develop and prioritize customer lists and contacts in concert with other Sales team members, and focus on key account management.
• Provide timely and accurate reports on business opportunities and customer activities. Analyze each opportunity and provide feedback to management.
• Attend and effectively represent the Company at trade organization functions as identified and directed by the Vice President of Sales.
• Keep management informed of conditions, activities, and trends including customer or prospect changes, technical developments, and competitive strategies.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
An undergraduate degree in business, engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
The successful candidate will be a proven sales professional with a minimum of 5-10 years experience selling services to the oil and gas industry. Specific experience and contacts with the oil and gas operators and drilling contractors is desirable, and a technical understanding of off shore platforms is a plus. Proven success in selling services to Senior Managers is essential.
This individual must be well organized and have a high energy level. He or she must be a perceptive self starter who can implement effective sales and marketing programs and make adjustments for industry trends, market swings and competitor activities. The successful candidate will be innovative, have the ability to perceive business opportunities and work closely with Company management and other Sales team members in developing and executing strategies which capitalize on these opportunities.
The finalist must possess a professional demeanor and excellent oral and written communication skills. He or she will be the type of individual who can interact effectively both professionally and socially, with people at all levels. This individual must conduct himself/herself in a manner which will reflect favorably upon the Company, enhance its reputation and promote good will. The successful individual will have a reputation for integrity, maturity, and sound business judgment.
In summary, the successful candidate must be a proven sales professional who can implement strategic marketing plans and successfully bring target projects to closure while working in a team environment.
