Maintenance Engineer
COMPANY
Our client is an independent petroleum refiner and marketer of high value transportation fuels in the mid-continental U.S. and, through a limited partnership, a producer of ammonia and urea ammonia nitrate, or UAN, fertilizers. Our client is headquartered in Houston, Texas with operations in Kansas.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager
SPECIFIC DUTIES
This individual will assist with the integration of Reliability Programs into the maintenance and operations work force. The Maintenance Engineer will provide budgeting recommendations based on written risk based economic justifications. This position consists of routine maintenance role that include the following:
- Review planning, scheduling and effectiveness of predictive maintenance and preventative maintenance activities with craftsmen and equipment specialists.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with the day-to-day department management functions.
- Provide technical support and direction for some turnaround and shutdown activities.
- Provide temporary vacation relief for department supervisors and Maintenance Mgr.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in the Safe and Reliable management of the maintenance department.
- Develop scope and plans for maintenance projects. Estimate costs and draft approval forms.
- Execute projects, order materials, direct contract crews and work with the Maintenance Supervisors.
- Track and report maintenance costs and schedules.
- This role requires the individual to perform project management form small maintenance projects and direct contract crews for project management
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering required.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and a CMMS (Maximo preferred).
- Some experience in a Project or Maintenance Engineering position including field experience in an oil refinery or gas plant; a minimum of 5 years of maintenance engineering/supervision experience required.
- Some experience in project scoping, estimating and field executing.
- Good interpersonal, communication and IT skills to communicate well at levels including Management, Maintenance and Operations. Ability to establish and maintain positive business relationships with internal and external customers. Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
- Some knowledge of process plant equipment, maintenance practices and maintenance work order scheduling (Maximo preferred).
- Some knowledge of project and turnaround scheduling (Premavera).
- Some knowledge of craft training programs and craft testing.
