REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports to the Vice President of Production & Development.
SCOPE:
Our client is seeking a talented Production Engineer to support its development activity focused on Permian Basin Wolfberry assets. Our client’s new growth strategy is to acquire development and exploratory drilling opportunities. The Production Engineer will be working in a small team environment with a geologist, reservoir engineer, drilling superintendent and operations manager. He/she will be responsible for developing optimum completion design for new wells with best in class fracture technology to maximize production and reserve recovery.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The Production Engineer will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of complete projects including plan, costs and economics, expected production and reserves increases and risk analysis, and will coordinate with operations staff to plan for annual goals of production; setting expected rates, costs and performance criteria. This individual will also be responsible for the following:
• Utilizing various artificial lift/Nodal analysis applications.
• Monitoring and optimizing production from existing wells.
• Developing optimum completion design wells with best in class fracture technology to maximize production and reserve recovery.
• Ensuring that assets deliver on production and financial targets and forecasts.
• Developing realistic schedules, budgets and cost estimates for all ongoing and special project work.
• Ensuring that producing properties operate at a maximum economic rate.
• Adhering to all company, local, state and federal health, environment and safety regulations
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The Production Engineer will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum or a related engineering field and will have a minimum of ten years of professional experience. The ideal individual will have previous knowledge of Permian Basin operations, as well as experience with Aires, Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook computer programs.
