Director, Financial Reporting

Corpus Christi, TX

COMPANY

Our client is an independent an independent oilfield services contractor that provides a broad range of drilling and production related services to oil and natural gas companies.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

This position reports to the Controller.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Responsible for the preparation and review of all external reporting, supporting documents and filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q; federal and state tax filings and related accruals. 
• Work directly with outside auditors and finance team to research and resolve any SEC and GAAP reporting and accounting issues.
• Assist the Controller with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements; development review, and implementation of accounting policies.
• Responsible for external audit coordination, involving extensive interaction with external auditors.
• Work with the Controller in the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Assess all policies and procedures and develop/implement best practices within areas of responsibility.
• Foster teamwork between corporate accounting, operational accounting, legal, treasury, and tax.
• Performs other duties and special projects as requested by management.
• Achieves effective communication, coordination of effort, information flow, and learning within the Accounting team.
• Supports high level of productivity, teamwork and employee satisfaction among Accounting team.
• Participates in the review and execution of various tax reports.
• Supports the annual audit process as well as any interim reviews.
• Performs other accounting duties and special projects as requested by management.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA is preferred.

Professional Experience:
• Must have eight years progressive accounting experience.
• Must have strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC requirements, as well as regional accounting practices and statutes.
• Big Four experience preferred.
• Strong technical accounting and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
